Our craftsmen continue to manufacture gold leaf folding screens, adapting ancient techniques to meet modern needs. With meticulous care, they hammer out the gold leaf and finish each piece with precision, showcasing their artisanal skills. It's a feeling akin to stepping back in time to when ancient craftsmen created gold leaf for feudal lords and temples.
Moreover, Hakuichi's achievements extend beyond traditional crafts, with projects spanning various fields such as interior design for Lexus automobiles, wall decorations for the Tokyo Skytree, and entrance designs for high-end hotels. These accomplishments attest to the global recognition of Hakuichi's craftsmanship and beauty.

About the original artwork
Originally found in the oldest zen temple in Kyoto, the Kennin-Ji Temple, it was gifted to the Kyoto National Museum for proper storage. Seeing the original artwork can make us feel the 400-year old history.
Due to aging, the condition of some areas of the original artwork, particularly near the hands and feet of the two gods, the tare Fujin's bag of winds, have deteriorated where the gold leaves have fallen from the canvas.
