Introduction to the Creative Craft Gallery
Hakuichi possesses the "Creative Craft Gallery," where the pinnacle of Kanazawa foil craftsmanship is showcased. We handle art and craft pieces such as folding screens meticulously painted stroke by stroke using classical techniques, as well as hanging scrolls, incense burners, and decorative plates employing various techniques.
The leaf is made into the stamped paper by the technique called Urabaku. Urabaku is a technique of sticking a foil on the basis of Torinoko washi paper and further sticking a silk cocoon from above.
With a background of blue color, it is invisible as if plum blossoms were shining against the sky by scattering gold foil, or as if it were floating on a cloud illuminated by moonlight in the dark You can see it as if you were releasing the smell of plum. The gold foil scattered throughout is a work that is composed of an exquisite balance.
The plum stem is drawn on the ground so that it has a three-dimensional effect and it is covered with Kanazawa leaf. The foil is discolored to the color of old plum by a special technique. Plum is the ultimate simplification of white plum and is finished symbolically without drawing fine lines such as petals.
